I pulled this card and when i read its effect, i was kind of surprised. Just remove it from play in the graveyard to destroy a synchro monster your opponent is special summoning, how easy is that? Its easy to send cards to the grave, so whats the catch?

There is no catch. It's like Necro Gardna, or Shield Warrior for that matter.

So it cant be negated by Stardust Dragon?

Well, it can because they're the same Spell Speed. But a lot of things can be negated by Stardust, and it doesn't really hold it back or anything.

this card is a limited print in OCG and very popular common about 12 bucks in japan

$12, isnt that kind of a rip off? And how can Stardust Negate Shiny Black "C"? Stardust affects cards on the field, "C" activates in the grave, meaning it shouldnt be affected.

it doesn't matter that the monster isn't on the field, a destruction effect has been activated and Stardust Dragon can negate that (this has been discussed before and seraphon made it look similar to what Divine Wrath does to effects that activate on the GY like Black Shining "C"...it can still be activated, it just won't destroy the source of the effect because the card isn't on the field, but the rest of the effect is fulfilled just fine.)

when smashing ground was big it was 8$ and that was before cards were even value-able. So 12$ is pretty gud imo since synchros are wayy bigger there then here.

Hm, you have a good point. So is it possible that Shiny Black "C" will be sided to beat synchros?

i think that its only good in lightsworn seeing as how its a dead draw in hand unless u discard it or mill it. i main 1 in my zombiesworn

Just to clarify....

Stardust Dragon can only negate an effect that would destroy atleast 1 'card on the field'.

Since Shiny Black C's effect will destroy a Synchro Monster "On The Field", Stardust Dragon's effect can be chained.

... yes both Shiny and Stardust both have spell speed 2 quick effects.

I think it has a slot for a side deck. I mean, how many cards are there that can stops synchros?

Does anybody think Shiny Black C is viable in decks other than Lightsworn?

Such as Zombies?

Jape

Zombies can run it, but probably not in threes. Decks will have to be modified to main it so it'll best to side it

I was thinking that Zombie decks which use Necro Guardna may be able to abuse it if sided and they just swap out the necros for decks that are heavy on synchro summoning

Ummmmm A LOT?

Off the top of my head:

Royal Oppression
Bottomless Trap Hole
Solemn Judgement
Thunder King Rai-Oh
Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo
Jowgen the Spiritualist
Horn of Heaven
Torrential Tribute
Vanity's Fiend
Vanity's Ruler
All the Barrier Statue monsters
Pollinosis
Karma Cut
Summon Limit
Compulsory Evacuation Device
Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
Raigeki Break
Offerings to the Doomed
Vanquishing Light
Black Horn of Heaven
Legendary Jujitsu Master
Wall of Illusion
Gravekeeper's Guard
Hyper Hammerhead
Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter
Old Vindictive Magician

And that's not including cards you can use during YOUR turn like Fissure, Smashing Ground, Exiled Force, Grand Mole and Lightning Vortex, or traps used in battle like Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison, or cards like Shrink, Honest, Kalut, Book of Moon.....

Bunny Boy makes a valid point.

But Shiny Black C is still a solid card.

Let me rephrase what i said. How many cards are there that can destroy synchros that can't be negated by most cards people run or side. Some cards of the cards Marz suggested were cards people are prepared for, and the rest are sided against. Does that sound better? People will not think of this card because they probably think its a dead draw as sexyboy amply demonstrated.

yup no catch, shining black c is especially devastating in a lightsworn deck. just auto mill him and wait. Then give your opponent a nasty surprise :)
