Yes I know Mox cards are frowned upon... but I figured that I better make one and get it out of my system.

Edit: Added a discard effect to the first ability. Added a sacrifice effect.

More broken than Chrome Mox... card disadvantage hurts much more than some life loss... not a good idea (moxen are dangerous in the first turns, this one has no drawbacks in the first turns)...

If you made it remove a card from your hand every activation on both sides, then it could work.

its a bit too good to get printed. Most decks need early mana accel and this card gives them that...

Feels like Mana Crypt to me. More balanced at 1, granted, but still something nobody wants to see printed again.

Instead of losing life for each taint counter, make it sacrifice a nonland permanent. That evens it out some, although still a little better than lotus petal.

actually it might be played but not too much. I mean look at lotus petal. Only a couple of legacy decks play it. It will not be a great card just a decent card

Interesting idea, although the only thing is that it simply limits it to first play tapping for mana.

Basically, you're turn 1 is to flip it over. Turn 2, tap for mana, return, play, tap to flip.

Simple yes... but not as fun.

The card has gotten less broken as the editing has evolved, but it is still quite broken. To begin with, it is so much better than Lotus Petal, seeing that in the worse case you add mana twice before saccing it. You have a lot of flexibility though. You 'may' discard a card; the opponent chooses to flip it or not; once flipped it adds any color; you choose what to sacrifice; etc. Not to mention its a HELL of a Madness outlet!!!

The name is good, and having a *flip* mox is neat, but it could be balanced you know...

When I saw the name I clicked to see, while imagining it was something like this:

Good Mox:
T: Add 1 mana, flip.

Bad Mox:
(introduce really bad drawback here, like having an oponent get free mana, or artifacts you play cost 1 more).

That could be balanced...
