Whenever you gain life, target opponent loses that much life.

"Blood is constant. Every drop I drink, someone must bleed."
- Vradeen, vampire nocturnus

Illus. Jaime Jones

Has combo potential as well...

I want to use it I just cant decide how. I am thinking in B/U with twin cast and consume spirit. But its hard to find a way to slow down aggro decks enough to get to turn six. Duress thought sieze maybe.

B/W would probably be the best bet considering all the lifegain tricks White has. Soul Feast wouldn't be a bad idea but that's dealing 8 damage for 5 mana while gaining 4 life.

Consume Spirit's not bad either, Souls of the Faultless seems really nice with Sanguine Bond. Tainted Sigil helps in group as well, sacrifice the Sigil and while gaining life with the Sigil target opponent takes damage for every life you gain with Sanguine Bond.

Beacon of Immortality is nice, double your life total and your Opponent takes damage of however much life is doubled with Sanguine Bond. Augury Adept swing they lose X for whatever mana cost of the card you draw into with Sanguine Bond.

Vectis Dominator with Assassinate or Royal Assassin is nice in a B/W Sanguine Bond deck.

Hmmm Sanguine Bond + Multiples of Tainted Sigil?

I'd be a bit afraid of hitting my opponent if I saw that. Hit them for 5. They gain 5 I lose 5, then they gain 10 I lose 10. That's annoying to think about.

what about this in a darkbant deck? it'd be nice to swing with a rafiq'ed warmonk and have them take double the damage.

Turn 3 Warmonk, turn 4 Rafiq, turn 5 Sanguine Bond...sounds nice, but when you consider the mana requirements-

...Turn 3 Warmonk, turn 4 Rafiq, turn 5 Finest Hour seems a lot better.

Of course, in W/B, this does some major ownage. With every black life drain and white life gain card out there, this is surely going to finish off players.

or just mono black with Tendrils of Corruption Child of the Night and Corrupt.
Also Sapling of Colfenor isn't going to complain about this card, even if they are competing for drop spots.

Before I saw this thread I had already finalized my domino deck, W/B. Sanguine Bond, Megrim, Demon's Horn, lots of black discard, some white for dealing with pesky decks. And all of the cards were M10 so I know there's plenty of room for improving it on my own. The point is get out the 3 named cards, force a discard on an opponent, 3 point life swing (+1 you, -2 them). I'll post the deck if anyone is interested.

Nevermind, I made it public. http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=383430 Comments appreciated, but the point of the deck is to be budget, and last through the next cycle for standard. (AKA deck lasts longer than 10 months)

One thing I would like to point out Beacon of Immortality doesn't work with sanguine bond it just doubles the life of a player. No life is gained the total amount is just changed. This also applies for Invincible Hymn wish those weren't worded that way.

Uh, yes, it does work. When a life total is changed, if it goes up, it counts as gaining life. How do you think False Cure and Beacon of Immortality were a valid combo?
