This is such a dumb question but I can't find this information anywhere......I have beaten the Elite Four in Fire Red and I want to go to Cerulean Cave and catch Mewtwo.The guy in front won't let me in,what do I do now?

You need 70 Pokemon caught before you can go after Mewtwo. I think it's 70 anyway, could be 60. I never can remember numbers pretty well.

Anyway, yeah, you need a certain amount of Pokemon caught before you can go after Mewtwo in the remakes.

Don't you have to do the Sevii Islands quest first? I could've sworn that I couldn't enter until I'd finished that.

... I think you do yes. You do definitely need a certain amount of Pokes too though.

You need 70 or more Pokemon to get the National Dex from Prof Oak. Then, to go into the Cerulean Cave, you need to have completed the whole Sevii Islands thing and have both the Ruby and Sapphire Plates.

I have the rught number of Pokemon(I have 139)what seven islands thing am I supposed to do?I feel so stupid but I really don't know and I can't find the information anywhere....

Well, you obviously know of the Sevii Isles - as you had to go there with Bill before you could finish the game.

Before you can Catch Mewtwo (and before you can challenge the Elite 4 again I believe) you have to complete the mini-adventure on the Sevii Isles. Basically, Team Rocket are not as inactive as you'd think and they've nicked away with the plates Celio (Bill's Bro) needs to finish his trade machine. You have to beat Team Rocket and get the plates back to finish the quest.

I'd reccomend playing through it properly if you can, just by going from Isle to isle and trying out what you can, but if you get stuck check out http://www.gamefaqs.com. You may also need to decode the braille in the later stages of the quest, you can find a braille chart at Pokecharms.
