In my opinion i believe that yugioh is starting to depreciate, the cards released these days are so ridiculous its just unbelievable e.g tuners wtf?!?!
1 yr back yugioh was at its primetime and was awesome. i loved it!
anyways i am a good duelist, please correct and give an opinion on hao my deck is- btw i do have forbidden cards because i haven't checked the ban list for a long time

Monsters:

Gear Golem The Moving Fortress
Chainsaw Insect X3
Chaos Sorcerer
Penguin Soldier
Yomi Ship
Black Stego
Exiled Force
Marauding Captain
Giant Soldier Of Stone
DD Warrior Lady
Magician Of Faith
Destiny Hero Defender X2
Reflect Bounder
Needle Worm
Elemental Hero Clayman
Wall Of Illusion X2
Sabersaurus
Mystic Swordsman LV2
Bazoo The Soul Eater
Mystic Swordsman LV4

Luster Dragon

Spells:

Monster Reincarnation
Dark Hole
Wave Motion Cannon
Snatch Steal
Mystical Space Typhoon
Swords Of Revealing Light
Premature Burial
Riryoku
Mage Power

Traps:

Dust Tornado
Compulsory Evacuation Device
Magic Cylinder
Raigeki Break
Torrential Tribute
Waboku
Negate Attack
Sakretsu Armour
Call Of The Haunted
Bottomless Trap Hole X2
Trap Hole
Rope Of Life

My basic theme of the deck is too be defensive and wait for a good build up of strong moves and inflict everything in one go. Basically I would prefer a deck where every card can be used independently. Please do not recommend me chains etc etc i really despise them

Thanks for all your opinions = )

Don't knock till you tried it. Don't go hating something just because you yourself don't like it. Indeed it is very different, but that doesn't mean better or worse.

I aint hating, im just expressing my opinion on how yugioh is nao. Obviously there will be different sides to it but im not here to create an arguement, i merely want help on my deck.

I dont mind a ancient gear deck, but is it not possible just to have a deck with completley mixed monster types?

Indeed... but then you'll need a theme. If you like to hit your opponent hard, a Normal Beat Down won't be a bad idea, which is basicaly a lot of heavy 1900 Attackers, and Normal Support cards like Justi-Break and Heart of the Underdog. I'm not an expert on the subject so it's best to ask someone else. But what's wrong with running a dedicated Type anyway? Ancient Gears are hella fun if you know how to play them. I have a Deck that's buried here somewhere that could help you out...

Here we are:

Monsters:

3 Ancient Gear Golemn
2 Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon
3 Ancient Gear Beast
3 Ancient Gear Knight
3 Ancient Gear Engineer
3 The Earth - Hex Sealded Fusion

Spells:

1 Future Fusion
1 Overload Fusion
1 Limiter Removal
3 Geartown
2 Terraforming
2 Power Bond
2 Ancient Gear Tank
1 Heavy Storm
1 Swords of Revealing Light
2 Magical Mallet
2 Ancient Gear Workshop
3 Ancient Gear Drill
2 Ancient Gear Castle

Traps:

1 Mirror Force

Extra:

3 Ultimate Ancient Gear Golemn

What it does is focus mainly on getting Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem out. With cards like Power Bond and Limiter Removal, you can do some serious damage.

I appreciate everyones ideas about the Ancient Gears, and i will ponder about introducing the Ancient Gears as a deck to myself. But id prefer if we mainly focus around my current deck, i will do a major overhaul on decks during summer, i have studies to worry about nao so im only concerned about 1 deck at the moment.

Ehh the thing is it's just too random. It's too old skool, which there is nothing wrong with, you'll just have a tough time against a lot of opponents. I suppose the most obvious fix I can see is switch giant Soldier of Stone for a Battle Footballer or something for higher Defense. Call of the Earthbound won't be a bad idea, forcing your opponent to attack one of your heavy Defense Monsters. Take out your Wabuko and Negate Attack for a Mirror Foece and Threataning Roar. Threataning Roar is more useful than Negate Attack cos a lot can change in the Battle Phase e.g. Ancient Gears. :P Also you can chain it if your opponent tries to destroy it.

But old skool are always the best, are they not? lol anyways thanks for your suggestions, and I will consider the Ancient Gears soon after by studies. One quetion... Hao will i have a tough time against alot of opponents?

Sorry that was just me blabbing... it's just what it seems like. Suppose the only real to know how Deck plays is to try it yourself though. :P

Meh i suppose so, is there a stronger monster than Summoned Skull, the reason why i like that card is because its so versatile, i can sacrifice 1 monster and add axe of despair, i would like a strong monster but nothing thats over 2 sacrifices, and if it could possibly have a good effect

Hmm why didn't I think of it before? Cyber Dragon. Ok don't replace that for Summoned Skull, but it's helpful in a pinch and gets out Summoned Skull easier. Gorz, the Emissery of Darkness will be probably be a good replacement.

No. That logic doesn't work anymore.

Anyone can drop a synchro, activate a counter trap or quickplay spell, DAD, ect ect ect and ruin Summoned Skull. I agree that the older cards are fun, but they just don't cut the mustard anymore. Competitive card games are all about staying ahead of the new cards that come out; even the best decks and strategies are eventually overtaken by the ever-flowing river of time (or cards, in this case).

I suppose if that's just your style of play you could find some decent level 5 or 6 monster and do that, but theres so much more you could do. Tuners and Synchros are actually very fun to use and some of them are really cool monsters too. Dark Strike Fighter looks like it came from Gundam Wing, and Thoguth Ruler Archfiend looks like a nightmare come to life.

You can do what you want, but if you really want to be competitive you gotta make sacrifices.

When you say you don't like to sacrifice two monsters to summon Summoned skull why not use something like Double Couston that allows you to summon a monster with the price of two sacrifices for one.

Okay I will explain what you should do in steps.
Step 1: Change your plan for a deck (Defense Decks suck).
Step 2: Learn how to use Tuners/Synchros (very useful).
Step 3: Look on yugioh.wikia.com at some of the newers booster packs and find cards which you like.
Step 4: Look at the pro decks on this website.
Step 5: Choose a theme for a new deck (The current best decks are Dark, Lightsworn, and Gladiator Beasts).
Step 6: Build your deck.
Step 7: Go to a tournament, if you lose, work out why, what cards were dead draws? What cards benefited your opponent more than you? What card did your opponent beat you with?
Step 8: Seek advice on this forum!

And that's it! Happy dueling!

I reckon you should go to a locals and keep going for at least 5 weeks no matter how many losses you take. I'm sure most locals have someone like me who will help you with your deck until you learn how to play modern yugioh because right now it seems like you aren't in the right frame of mind for it.
