View Full Version : Dusclops ex ?
I think, this deck will come with the Ex emerald set. Al most, it look very nice and solid. I think also, to combo with Gardevoir from R/S and with one Gardevoir from Ex Emerald.
What do you think about? It can put many damage counter with few energy. And Gardevoir can help attaching energy and Healing the damage done with the energy attach's damage.

Dusclops is one of the better ex's in the set, which is actually pretty sad.
Anyway, while it CAN deal a good amount of damage, you probably don't want to pile more than 5 energy on a single pokemon, especially if it's an ex with only 100 hp.
The point is, it's okay, but it'll go down fairly quick. And supporting a stage 1 hitter that can attack with a single energy with 2 stage 2's probably isn't great either.

Why go through the trouble of Gardy/Gardy for only Dusclops when Gardy/Gardy/Gex is much more powerful?
Yes, Bullados. I also was thinking about GEx also. With Boost energy, I can attach it to Gex or Dex to put 8 damage counter. I also thinks that will pretty nice if I can have 1 Dex Active an another in the bench for remove Dex's weakness.

Dusclops ex is alright, but theres nothing that great to combo it with.
And the 100 HP, lose 2 prizes and 5 energy is a pretty big drawback.

I'd only use it as a tech in a deck that has weakness to dark, such as Gengar EX.

Would boost energy work to power up Dusclops exs attack? The reason I ask this is because it doesnt work for Trode ex.

They both have the same wording so I would assume no. But while on that topic, why doesn't it work. It says for every ENERGY dscarded, not for every ENERGY CARD. Boost supplies 3 ENERGY....I dont get that.

I was told by Whicker that it was ruled out for some reason, but im not to sure about Dusclops.

As of right now, boost does allow dusclops to do 60 extra damage. However, it is theoretically possible that a future ruling will change the text to energy CARDS if it's a mistranslation.

Why not Electrode ex though? They say the same thing.

Because there was a ruling on electrode ex that said it was supposed to add damage for each energy CARD, not for each energy. Such a ruling does not exist for dusclops (it'd be sad if it did so soon after its release... actually it's not released yet), but may come into existance in the future.

Why not Electrode ex though? They say the same thing.
Because the japanese cards of Electrode Ex said: ...for each energy card....
Electrode Ex was mistranslated similar to Mantine. However, this is not the case with Dusclop Ex. He is rather nice in decks with Banette and Magcargo. the later one merely provides the evolution and boost.
The downside is that part of the deck relies on the usage of a decent amount of special energy cards in the environment. The deck will be worse and better same time once the next set is released.
Excuse me, Murkrow. Which Bannette are you talking about? Are you talking about magcargo, also. Is it those from Ex Deoxis?
Thanks.

Hmm.... I though this one would be easy to combo with... although it involves with a lot of evolutions....
I personally think Dusclops Ex could be combo with:
Blaziken
Blastoise Ex + Milotic (Rain Dance onto Duskull... or non-ex Dusclops... heal with Milotic, then Time Machine)
Gardevoir (no point though, since there's Garde Ex)
Energy Trans + Roselia (preferably with Sceptile... since the Ex version can provide healing)
Heck.... Electrode Ex.... (stack a couple of Boost Energy with the power.... crazy damage)
I also think like you. But, i also think about others say above. And i think Dusclops Ex i a good card, but not enough for Nationals. I wrong?
You miss about Dark Dragonite / Dark Electrode.

that already has Sneasel and Electrode to abuse the energies, plus Sneasel abuses the amount of Pokemon already in the deck. Dusclops only places damage counters, so it wouldn't be affected by the Darkness effect, and it only has 100 HP, which is pretty much meat if it has more than about 4 energies on it. That's 4 special energies down the tube plus 2 prizes, assuming that the opponent isn't a complete moron and doesn't OHKO the thing after the initial OHKO.

I dont think there's any getting around it. This card is very dangerous to play. Its up to you whether or not you wish to take the risk.

Ive heard that Dusclops goes best with Gengar Ex. Dusclops really helps get rid of Gengar Ex's weakness.

That sounds like the best way to play it. Keep it as a bench warmer and only send it out when the time is right.

That is how i see it. You are better off attacking with Gengar while not having that nasty weakness to worry about.

Another good combo and one of my personal favs is Metagross from DX or HL, if you go HL, then go something like Dark Trode, but really you want to go with Metagross DX, b/c it doesn't matter how many energy you pile on, you get them back, another good combo is Lanturn/Dusclops ex. Metagross DX or Lanturn is your best bets.

i've used dusclops ex and i think its pretty steady card.
i normally boost the damage it can do and with gardevoir to pile on the normal energy as well as heal, it can be pretty good. normal and fighting resistance is also pretty good.

yeah, its nice with Gardy, but Metagross DX i feel is best, sure its 10 damage and all, but you can't really run out of energy.

you only cant run out of energy if your deck runs metal energy and thats only 4 of em anyway. i don't c the point since gardy can both search out the missin energy, remove the damage and when the going gets tough, it can step up to the plate and hammer some massive damage of it's own...
anyway, dusclops ex also has a very fragile life. 100 aint hard to take down. with gardy on the sideline healing it up, at least it'll last a little longer.
to each his own i suppose.

Uhh, its Psychic or Metal, not just Metal, so you can't really run out of energy -_-
