I'm a fan. For just 1 more mana than a Boggart Ram-Gang, you get a free spell. Cascade seems to be aggressively costed and very playable.

Not to mention with all the Haste going around, this could really be crazy days at the magic shop...

Yes. Just...yes. Elf + Berserker + Haste + Cascade = Favorite Reborn Card So Far.

Not saying the best card so far. Just favorite.

At least it's not a 2/2.

Playing Elves: "What's this I flipped up? Another Lord?" *chuckles maniacally*

Just keep that 1cmc slot empty (or close to empty), and you've got a good value proposition in any deck, plus all the benefits of cascade. Countermagic resiliance, card advantage, and tempo.

Does he stack up against Masked Admirerers? I think so. The card advantage skips lands.

I think it's leaps and bounds better than Masked Admirers. Haste, plus it plays the card for you, which makes its effective mana cost only 1-3.

This card card is just amazing. One of the best cards in Reborn. Its cost is perfect because cascading to <= 3 is what decks really need. Playing this in Blightning Beatdown/Jund Rock deck will net you:

free Blightning, Maelstrom Pulse, Terror, Thoughtseize, Sygg, River Cutthroat (draw 1 card if unopposed), Bitterblossom, Sprouting Thrinax and Jund Charm.

This one's a sleeper.

umm
*playing domain (or something)
T1 land, wild nacatl
T2 prismatic omen, swing for 3
T3 Ardant Plea, flips up might of alara, swing for 9
T4 Berserker, flip any method of pump, GG (all before your opponent can drop a cryptic if you won the play)

I agree with many of the posts here, the Cascade ability seems aggressively costed and very, very strong.

I guess I will have to see how it actually plays out to really make a decision, but this card is decent, and an Elf, without Cascade.

4x Tattermunge Maniac
4x Figure of Destiny
4x Jund Hackblade
4x Hellspark Elemental
4x Boggart Ram-Gang
4x Bloodbraid Elf

4x Flame Javelin
4x Tarfire
3x Volcanic Fallout
3x Incinerate/Magma Spray

22x Land

Unfortunately, in this configuration, you lose Terror, Deathmark, and Goblin Outlander, all 3 are key cards to win in the current metagame.

If someone can figure out the mana:

4x Figure of Destiny
4x Tattermunge Maniac
4x Hellspark Elemental
4x Goblin Outlander/Jund Hackblade?
4x Boggart Ram-Gang
3-4x? Bloodbraid Elf

4x Tarfire
4x Flame Javelin
3x Terror
3x Volcanic Fallout
1x Banefire?

22x Land

SB:
3x Deathmark
3x Chaotic Backlash
3x Infest
1x Volcanic Fallout
2x Wild Ricochet
3x Guttural Response or Relic of Progenitus

Something like that?

Now, someone figure out the mana for me in a way that won't break my bank account.

I'm really sorry, but I don't think that's possible.

Let's see, a 3/2 for 4, in Standard, that's bad, because of the 2 not the 3, they still make Volcanic Fallout. 2 for 1, that isn't good, that's GREAT, so that's an overall above average card, so far. Haste is an above average ability, so I promote it to "Good." And ... that's it. It's a good card, not a great one. Worthy, a staple, not a game-changer. Sweet topdeck after a Wrath or Fallout. Too bad RW is still awesome. I sometimes can't stop the feeling that Wizards hates Gruul. This card may be its "We're sorry."

I would love to play this guy and his friend the Ram-Gang all for the low-low price of 4 mana. And that will happen a lot in the upcoming months, like it or not.

I'm starting to realize how they want a cascade deck to work... they want you to spend your first two or three turns mana-fixing or accelerating. Then you catch up on turns four and five by playing amazing cascade cards and not worrying about wasting the cascade on any one or two drops.

And I think the deck runs like 27 lands and some Countryside Crushers and Exploding Borders.

Or a sweet card to simply hold unto until after you force a Wrath/Fallout.

i proxied 4 of these in my "burning bant" (naya/bant aggro) deck and it was so fun playing this and getting a warmonk/thoctar/finks at the same time. and as stated above, it's really nice post-wrath.

Raka,

You are vastly underrating the strength of this card. The 2 toughness means less than 3 power, since you will always attack, and the vast majority of defensive creatures would kill it at either 2 or 3 toughness.

The free spell is what makes it gravy. I will take 2 cards for the price of one every day of the week, plus, I get to attack with this guy first? Wow.

Yes, Fallout kills it, and it dies to a lot of removal, but that's why getting two cards for the price of one makes it that much better.

compare it to flametongue kavu.

1 less power, but haste makes up for it.
4 damage vs free card.

If you hit somthing like a thoctar, gouger, hells thunder, or boggart ram-gang its INSANE.

If you hit somthing like figure of destiny, hellspark elemental, or Incinerate its very good.

And against permission, it really shines. What are you going to counter? The Elf or the Wooly? Just a great card.

Sweetness. Minion Reflector work with Cascade?

Minion reflector is a no go. You aren't playing the token, its just being put into play

For some reason I don't like this card, Mainly cause I don't like messing with cascade and such. Why? I have no idea why...probably because I haven't figured out a good combo or concept for it.
