Shard Convergence :3::g:
Sorcery Uncommon
Search your library for a Plains card, an Island card, a Swamp card, and a Mountain card, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
(from salvation)
Mark my words - this thing will be amazing in limited - easily first pickable even with all the other fixing in the set. While thinning is often overrated - this kind of thinning and card advantage (both virtual and outright - draw 4!) is not to be despised.

I've been thinking the same thing...especially with all the cards that look at basic land types. Imagine if this had been in Rav block with the Duals.

Now just imagine if they reprint the Rav duals in 11th (which is a distinct possibility).

I hope we get shocklands too...
I love this card for its mana fixing capabilities, but as for a card advantage engine? I always considered card advantage to be more than just having more cards than an opponent, but having more action spells. Regardless, it's a cool card.

What makes you think i wont need to get a forrest with this card? Huh? What makes you think i did not tap the non green vivid land or my reflecting pool to get the green huh?
(I could get a forrest with the shocklands but until then)

its practically fueling 8 damage off seismic assault!!!
RG seismic any1?
besides that, it helps to thin the deck down from lands to avoid drawing lands instead of gas...

I wonder if green decks could use this in standard, sort of a new-harmonize type card.

Well - it certainly has to be considered for whatever constructed domain deck emerges - but the virtual card quality advantage it creates through thinning is (obviously) proportionately less in the 60 card world.

I like the idea of this plus seismic hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Actually, this being printed seems like a pretty clear signal that we won't be getting shocklands back just yet. That would just be crazy.

I'm not so sure about that. Think about it...You might be able to go get all the colors you need, but it would cost you a lot of life to lay them turn after turn...especially considering that you probably wouldn't be able to play Shard Convergance until turn three, and that is because you spent your first two turns ramping. Against any quick deck, you'd be dead before you laid the second land you searched for.

Maybe - I'll admit it: I'm kinda hoping for no duals in 11th though (which would never happen) so my opinion about this is totally biased.

I just have to know, just HAVE to know Why? Not that I think this opinion is stupid. Afterall RoninX it would be stupid for me to assume you a bad player. But....still....Why?
I do admit, however, that it would make Standard, and indeed all formats, a bigger challenge and would give more 'Spell rares' spaces in 11th.

Yeah, I also have to wonder why you would want such a thing Ronin. Domain is a pretty big chunk of this set and I think Wizards has 3 options with it; really push it to a playable level; make it just okay and print shocks to improve it; or just make it a retardedly weak mechanic, like kinship or such, that has limited application outside of limited. Now, I think the middle one is the most likely of these, but who knows, maybe RnD will just keep it as a neat draft mechanic.

I had that idea too. 8 to your dome? Why yes. 6 to your dome and the other red I needed to *cast* the assault. Yes please. No other constructed uses that I can see.

Domain worked fine and was powerful the last time around without shocks and with only pain lands. In fact in some cases Terminal Moraine was actually played (ask Kai Budde if you don't believe me).
Our mana right now is just stupidly good - and stupidly good mana actually hampers innovative deck building IMHO. Sure, you can have practically limitless variations on 5 color control - but is that fun? Not for me. In standard there are not enough power cards to make having amazingly good mana interesting (see extended). The card overlap between the top decks in this format is huge right now, and that contributes to my total boredom with the format.
So heres hoping for no dual lands in 11th (which, again, would never ever happen since duals sell packs).

I almost completely agree with you, Ronin. Though I kinda take issue with the large amounts of hybrids in the format too. Almost every deck with green or white will have finks, any deck with black or red will try their darn'dest to have demigod's, etc... Combined with Reflecting Pool + Vivids, things become... predictable?
But then again, I'm old school and still have hesitation playing 3 color decks let alone 5...

I completely agree about card overlap. Look how many decks have been able to play Cryptic Command!!! It's ridiculous.

I have really been complaining about the land issue for awhile now. I was reallying hoping to see Wasteland in eventide...after seeing Reflecting pool released (which was not needed at all). It really has come down to the point in standard where spell color is not an issue when it comes down to the mana base. With all the lands out and hybrid cards on top of that.
I hope we get shocklands too...

Land Tax???
Anyways, this is bomb in limited.

personally when I heard about domain being a big focus in this set I thought harrow would get reprinted but I guess I like this too. I see this card being played in block too more in naya shard(as a base) but we'll have to see what the rest of the set offers to make this really backbreaking. I agree that card advantage is awesome, but then again card advantage with lands is less impressive than card advantage with spells, that being said land thinning does lead to more business spells, that being said it's not mana severance either. still an awesome card though

How about Retrace? This gives you 4 shots at it in the mid to late game. I think this is something to look into...

seems really good with retrace, but are you really gonna run all 5 colors just to abuse retrace??? somehow I'm doubting it
