Gravity Well :2:
Artifact
Sunburst
At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Gravity Well unless you remove a charge counter from it.
Whenever an artifact comes into play, put a charge counter on target artifact.

OK, I take it that you know of some combo with this, because without one, it's a really sucky Energy Chamber (that is to say, Energy Chamber sucks, and this is worse) and the world doesn't need that.
But, I'll reserve judgment until I see what neat tricks you have up your sleeve. It's too late for me to play the guessing game, though... what's the combo?

Well, so you are supposed to play at least 2 other artifacts on the same turn in which you play this (it does not have charge counters on its own)... this can be an accelerated Energy Chamber, but most always this will be just worse... maybe Sunburst would make this playable...

i actually don't have a specific combo, sadly enough. . .i just noticed playing a cog deck that i was casting a ton of artifacts, and thought something like this could be utilized. . .maybe with darksteel reactor. . .
three ideas:
1. keldon's idea of sunburst. . .i normally don't like sunburst, but it could give this card some life. . .but only then, just a bit. . .
2. nix the upkeep. . .this is less stable than and more expensive than energy chamber already. . .the upkeep might have kileld it. . .
3. have this trigger off opponent's artifacts, too. . .fits the gravity flavor. . .

Sunburst would be gold, pilot. Makes this more interesting, more playable... better in all ways.

This should cost 2. It's big card disadvantage already, and a shorter clock makes the combo more exciting.
Still unplayable though; especially if Energy chamber is unplayable.

There are easier ways to accumulate charge counters. Energy Chamber has been mentioned. I would think that Coretapper is better too.
The problem here is that you have to expend a certain number of the "add charge counter" triggers on itself just to keep it around.

i'd much rather use energy chamber

I like this.
It makes me want to do broken things with Darksteel Reactor.

You would want to do broken things with Darksteel Reactor.
On a serious note, I would tend to agree on energy chamber being better than this most of the time. Depending on how many artifacts you think you can shove out a turn, I'd venture to say that most of the counters will be spent on trying to keep this alive. It's a combo card, I just can't think of anything that couldn't be done better with another card instead.

nuisance engine would be enough to just keep it around and then every other artifact you play would be a counter on something else. Energy chamber may be better but not strictly better. This could be useful as a I am going to cast a tons of artifacts to get charge counters to finish ... also this could be used in conjunction with energy chamber and/or coretapper.

i agree with what people are saying, for the most part. . .energy chamber is stable, but this is explosive. . .but this is definitely for combo, but so is energy chamber. . .so a deck would probably use both this and energy chamber. . .use the chamber to keep this alive, perhaps a vedalken archmage, and who knows what else. . .

*sigh* All this needs to reall be nuts is by combining this card with a toolbox/cog control deck. Add darksteel reactor as an alternate win condition. The way the artifact recursion goes with that deck, you could EASILY pile the charge counters on that puppy, as well as the fact that you can easily fish for multiple kinds of land.

You could do:
:3:
Artifact
Whenever an artifact comes into play, you may distribute 2 charge counters among any number of artifacts you control.
At the beginning of your upkeep...
Makes it more combo-rific, perhaps. I've made enough charge counter decks to know that it's really, really hard to do broken things with them.
