Please look at the comments for the Featured Blog, "A Narrow, Unfortunate 2nd Place." Profanity, name-calling, etc. Lovely.

Thank you Risky I'll look into it.
As you may remember there is an inherent problem in policing blogs unlike the forum threads. Although we are to a certain extent self-policing we always appreciate it when a Titan of the game such as yourself helps by pointing stuff like that out.
Unfortunately I cannot comment at that blog (or any blog since my puter has issues logging in at the blogs, and submit a deck as well ... if another Mod could comment there that would be great) re "consulting sideboard notes" known officially as "outside information," this being the 10 year anniversary of that rule (and the player in question hasn't played Magic in over ten years). Yes 1998 States aka the Tolarian Academy/Sligh States was the first big tournament the rule went into effect.
I'll never forget how confusing that rule was when it came in. Obviously you couldn't consult notes from previous matches, that part we got. What many did not get however was the second part that said you could not consult your own "crib sheet" re sideboard substitutions. That doesn't seem like cheating to me even today especially with complicated subs, but the DCI believes otherwise and the rules is the rules as you know.
In any event, cheating either intentional or unintentional borne of ignorance definitely raises the tension-o-meter in folks, as well it should.
But lets keep it civil OK? Thanks bros.
EDIT: Risky, please click on the link in your siggy. Does it go anywhere? My puter says it can't go to whereever you wish to send us. I think we know why.

Do the mods normally police the blogs? I've never noticed them before, but there normally isn't that much discussion anyway.
you have left me impotent in my own hand.
^That made me laugh so much.

Yeesh. Remind me never to play in MS.
I think it's just that Mods don't usually say anything on blogs.. if there's actions to be taken, such as removing an unsavory post, they do so without comment within a few minutes (or so)... so you just don't normally notice all their hard work. 'Course, that could by and large be said of the forums, as well. I can only imagine the horror stories.......
