I'm not even sure where to start with how overpowered this is...

I don't think he got it, Drakonis.

Anyway, bubbleboy, please take a look at one of the best lands of all time, a land that is overpowered by current standards, and realize why your land is wayyyy better. Without further ado, I present: Badlands!

The reason is because, as a swamp this thing is innately given the ability to tap for :b:. And as a mountain, it is innately given the ability to tap for :r:. So you have made a no-drawbacks (legend? please.) dual land that can also generate a bazillion tokens....slightly better than your average Swamp, and even than Badlands.

Produces infinite tokens with an Overgrowth (http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/magic_single_card.asp?cn=Overgrowth); or, you know, two wild growths.

Wow. Does Legendary status grant all that many advantages over Badlands?

there are so many ways to go infinate with this. Mana Flare (http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/magic_single_card.asp?cn=Mana%20Flare), which is red, or Ashnod's Altar (http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/magic_single_card.asp?cn=Ashnod's%20Altar) come to mind.
But, even without any other ability, you've basically reprinted badlands, which will never happen. Even if it was simply a legendary swamp mountain, i would have 4 of in any b/r deck. with the legends rule, i would still tap one for mana, play number 2, legend rule applies, tap number 2 for mana(unless they changed it, I haven't been up to date on my rules for a long time... and i'm not kidding).
And with the ability on the land, I'd use 2 mana to make a token, tap for mana again.

Just make it a Legendary Land - Swamp Mountain that puts a 0/1 Rat into play for :1::b::r:, :t:. And get rid of the :untap: ability.

Even this:

Legendary Land - Swamp Mountain

withOUT any extra abilities is overpowered.

Uyo has it right. There is a reason that the Alpha duals haven't been reprinted in times past. And that even the shocklands were considered ungodly good. People seem to think Legendary is a horrible drawback...but it only is on cards like Isamaru where you would want to have multiples in play. With mana fixing, all you really need is one, either in play and or in your deck, and you're happy.

And no, you wouldn't be able to tap the second one for mana. SBE's destroy both before you have the opportunity.

So what your saying is. I have a legend in play, i play a second legend with the same name, they both get destroyed as a SBE?

Yeah...that is how the legend rule works dude. It's not a triggered ability or anything. There is no chance to respond.

i had a completely different idea of how that worked. I thought it destroyed the one that was in play the longest, and the newest one stayed. thanks for the lesson!

The rule was updated with Kamigawa block, and is, imo, much better now :)

Yeah, that is how the rule used to work up until Kamigawa, so don't feel bad.
