I think I might actually be in love, this basically trashes rev if it hits, it means they can't slow you down with life gain and it has a 2/2 body to boot and wither is pretty nice too.

I'm not sold. At it't most basic, it is a non-evasive bear. Yeah, if it hits, nice, but I think it will come up short more often than not. Gaining massive life, still doesn't win you games, it makes it more difficult to lose.

I think 1cc more with haste or flash and yeah, then we would have something.

1cc with haste or flash and this ability? That would be broken. Period. This guy is still useful as a SB choice. Won't hit 'em turn 3 probably, but maybe when you get to 4 or 5 mana, you can have enough to burn through a few defenders, then swing with him. Good in RDW, who's biggest enemy is quick lifegain. If you can seal that off turn 5, you should be ok. I bet it sees play in constructed. Not in many decks, but it'll play.

Lol... Traitor's Roar on this guy = plan backfired.

Just won't to make sure that I understand this coorectly...does his affect end if he dies?

Nope, it's a permanent effect, regardless of what happens afterwards.

its effect lasts until the end of the game. Even if you can't swing through, it's got wither so I like that, which means it can help kill persist creatures in one go, take that all you stupid kitchen finks

ewall: you misread Shotgun, he said 1 cmc more -> 3 cmc I agree it's definitely busted at 1cc with haste. Anyone want to build Kavu Justice again now?

Whoops, my mistake. Ya, a 3 drop 2/2 with haste and that ability would be a little bit more playable probably.

Play it with Rage Forger in Elemental Aggro in either Standard or Block. I think it is a main deck card, although some may want to play it out of the sideboard.

I think it is a solid, playable card. Not broken, but something that belongs in an Elemental Aggro deck, and sideboard out of Red Deck Wins.

This dude eats kitchen finks, he stops the persist, stops the lifegain, this card was printed just to give RDW a way around the finks.

At least on the play... ;)

This could be fun with Simian Spirit guide on turn one. Prolly not constructed worthy (Guide I mean) but fun. Man I miss Chrome Mox. =(

Hmmm.... A deck with these and Fulminator Mages would actually make good use from Spirit Guide I think. Cheap creatures, anti-lifegain, and land destruction would prolly wreck most control decks. Guide would even let you play turn 2 Magus of the Moon. I need to come up with a list.

Kinda what I was thinking... This guy in a B/R sleigh with Cairns and a decent mana base, plus all the burn Sleigh typically runs and you should be able to get this guy through for damage.
In limited, toss a power of fire on him and you've got a guy that prevents em from gaining life and slowly whittles away the opposing board! :) I'm sure that'll be good times.

Monster SB card.

To that guy who said life gain don't win you games, Primal Command and Finks stall RDW enough so that you can win the game, if this guy hits they can't stall the game. Depends on how you look at it really.
