Do have a Pokemon that you love just because you like the way it looks, or a Pokemon that you may have on your team but you hate the way it looks. You may not even use a certain Pokemon because it's stupid looking. This has nothing to do with stats. I love Torkoal. It belches smoke and I fell in love with Ash's Torkoal. I'm not exactly fond of Swampert though.
Don't worry. I don't judge Pokemon on the way they look. Ugly or not I judge a Pokemon's potential. If I didn't, Kyogre wouldn't be on my team and it's actually one of my strongest. On a side note, Kyogre is the only legendary I use.

Well currently I don't really have a team but if the future is considered...
Tyranitar's not winning any beauty contests. I might also have porygon (as opposed to porygon2) just because it looks so much better than its evolution and is so great.

Yayies for all who remember this! That's right! I KEEP ALL THE YAYIES!

Yayies for me! ^^
First off, Swampert. I really love that thing gamewise - probably my favourite Water-type to use - but the only Swampert look I've really liked is its Colosseum model (which to me is incredibly cute). The game sprites, anime design, most everything else are fair at best. And Sceptile... Oh man that's a Pokemon in need of a new look! Treecko and Grovyle rock out loud, but Sceptile doesn't even come close. Gamewise, tho... Its speed is amazing, making it one of my top fave Grass-types to use.
Now, on the flip-side... There are a lot of Pokemon I like anime-wise but may not use as much in the games. Flygon quickly comes to mind. Its so damn cool/cute, but its stats really aren't that great compared to what they could be. Umbreon, Butterfree... Lots more I bet.
The ultimate fave because of looks for me, though, was Raichu. I loved that thing the moment I first saw. Doubt I'd ever used one at that point ^^

Yes! I usually base my team on what pokemon I like most.
On the top I absolutely love Umbreon and Meganium. Also, there are many lower stage evolutions that I like a lot more than their later stages, such as bulbasaur. But those ones I cant use...even though I like how they look better, they are way too weak if you dont let them evolve. Too bad...
I avoid using certain pokés because of the way they look, Swampert I am only now starting to use mostly because I hate its sprite so much, especially its eyes... Hariyama is another one like that, 2 days ago I caught one on ruby and was planning to use it in the E4, but the way it looked etc made me re-think that idea, and I used medicham instead, medicham for the record also looks really bad...
One pokémon I love just because of the way it looks, has to be Absol, the first time I saw it I was like "OMG that is so cool!" I have about 9 of them because of this fact.
Combusken, am I right in saying that is an Ugly pokémon, it really put me off evolving my Torchic, fortunately I raised it until it learned flamethrower so only had combusken for 1 level, but still, *shudders*

Cradily and Claydol are so creepy they're cool. They're two of my favorites looks wise. The only thing Grovyle has over Sceptile is looks. Grovyle would look awesome as the replacement for the Jaguar on the hood. Bayleef looks a lot better than Meganium. If Charmeleon had wings it would be cooler than Charizard.

Oh, perish the thought, Animestarr! :D
In Crystal I have a Houndoom named Darkflame, and a Scizor named Blade-----. The other half of that refers to how mean and nasty it looks. They are my favorites in terms of looks.

Houndoom is one of the best Pokemon in every aspect. It is one of the best looking Pokemon ever created. It has horns, people. I adore dark types. Dark and Fire......you can't get much better.
I won't leave out Sneasel while I'm here. It can really carry those claws. It's very sleek. Dark and Ice is a good combo, too. Too bad it's special attack is an abomination.
I personally hate the look of bayleaf and meganium, I like bayleaf more than before, but meganium just looks wrong in my opinion, and bayleaf is fine apart from the hole in its leaf just because it looks like a snorlax has tried to eat it...
Sneasel, what a Pokémon looks wise eh, Houndoom is the same, they both suffer the same weaknesses, Stats, and Movepool, IMO...
Blaziking

What are you talking about, Houndoom has great stats and moves! And also he is one of the best looking Pokemon ever, so two thumbs up for him. My favorite looking Pokemon from the first generation was Onix. But when I found out that in Gold/Silver he has an evolution he sought of lost his appeal. The best 2nd generation Poke is Scizor. He may even be my favorite looker. The best looking 3rd gen. pocket monsters must be Blaziking and Aggron. There are so many others I can't currently think of...
Dusclops

This might not surprise you, but I like dusclops, even though its look isn't really cute or cool. The eevees would make a great team, in ability and from an asthetic standpoint.... but i admit i tend to take pokemon who are just able to knock out the opponents fast, looks be damned. i do wish smoochum had legendary quality stats though..... damn cute little thing she is!
I personally don't think Blaziken looks that good, it looks too much like a bird/human hybrid, its face looks really strange, and the hair it has at the back is really strange... Aggron I agree looks very cool, though personally I prefer both its pre-evo's looks wise... Dusclops, I like dusclops to some extent even though it does look more like a rock pokémon than a ghost imo... I like Evee and its evolutions quite alot though, they are very fun!
Back to houndoom, it has a wider movepool TM wise than other 2 stage fire types e.g. Rapidash, Ninetails... However its natural moves are fairly weak, to get a good moveset you would need IMO at least 3 tms, wheras Rapidash would need 2 purely to get rid of its rock and water weakness.... Still looks wise it completely rocks!!!

Depends. Houndoom learns both FT and Crunch, and chances are that's exactly what I'd use. What does Rapidash learn that's any good? I'd rather have Flamethrower than FireBlast, so there goes a TM... I also wouldn't keep Agility on an already fast Pokemon. So that leaves it with Bounce... Is that really necessary?
Y'see, IMO Rapidash is MUCH worse than Houndoom natural movepool-wise, but it's all personal preference.
Speaking of which... I love Rapidash's design but I've never seriously trained one before. There are just lots of other Fire-types I'd rather use instead.
Personally Id have a moveset like this if i was using either of those 2..
Sunny Day
Fire Blast
Solarbeam
Bounce (rapidash)/ Crunch (houndoom)
its one of the rare movesets I would have with fire blast, just because it would be very useful to have unless your opponent is likely to use a fire move which would take advantage of flash fire... Also, I like bounce, its a good move purely for the paralysis chance...

That's a good moveset. It gets rid of key weaknesses. I've never been exactly fond of using Sunny Day because it uses up a turn, but I would defininetly consider using this moveset myself.
Heh, anyone else see the irony that you started a topic about appearances and within 15 posts it was a moveset debate...

Could be worse. Another place I go, everything always ends up being about food, and people have to drag the conversation back on topic with gratuitous asides like
ObPokemon: So how about Snorlax eating Bayleef's leaf, eh?
;)
The "Ob" means "Obligatory" as in "that's what we're supposed to be discussing here..."
