Am I the only person being profoundly dumb struck by the loss of the tutors since the rotation of ext? ie. the enlightened, mystic, and vampiric.
Anyone know if the'll be reprinted?
I simply cannot imagine how combo decks can work without them.
But then I guess there are always Wishes as asubstitute...

I would not be surprised if we saw a few tutors (perhaps not of the same caliber as Vampiric/Enlightened/Mystical Tutor) printed in Ravnica. While Kamigawa doesn't seem to be that focused on this kind of thing (though it has some interesting cards), Ravnica may just bring in a few new versions of tutors. They might be Sorceries rather than Instants, or they might cost more... but I don't think it'd be too much to expect a few more "reprints" from the older sets to show up in the next block or two.

I think it would be cool them printing Portal tutors again that just came legal in T1, Personal Tutor, Grim Tutor and some third I can`t remember... Of course I wouldn`t mind to see Demonic tutor reprinted =P

... is sylvan tutor I believe. Regardless, its the equivalent of wordly tutor. Yeah, losing the tutors does kinda suck. :( However, I liked the idea to reprint them at sorcery speed, or at 1(insert color of tutor) instead. I really think that would be nice, but right now tutors would be incredible in standard, and I don't know if R & D will want to put something that powerful back in the T2 format.

Allow me to list off the top of my head the cards I will miss most post-rotation :(:
1. Sneak Attack
2. Squee, Goblin Nabob (:( Good ol' Squee, we hardly knew yee)
3. City of Traitors
4. Every good tutor
5. Academy Rector
6. En-kor
7. Mox Diamond
8. Forbid
9. Cursed Scroll
10. Pattern of Rebirth
*single tear, sigh* Extended will never be the same again, combo decks will now suck as bad as Type 2 combo decks.... so much for the Jonnies of Extended
I have a feeling that affinity's unfathomable brokeness will rival UG Desire and Scepter Chant for the top of the Teir one list for post-rotation, and might eventually get the big ol' hamma it got in Standard, but that isn't for this thread....

The biggest loss of Extended is the whole traditional RDW.dec
The tutors are going is sadly, but on the other hand i like the idea of not having such a good cardsearch engine for combo decks.
I also think that at least one good Tutor will be (re)printed in the next sets...

I think extended's biggest loss is the COMPLETE loss of combo decks. Post Rotation say goodbye to Desire, Life, and Aluren.
The second biggest loss is the good artifact hate, so expect Affinity as a tier 1 deck after the rotation.

you still have Diabolic Intent.

lol.
We'll maybe lose a few combo decks, but with the new meta, also new combo-decks will be born.
DragonstormKCI, Draco-Explosion, Desire will propably stay alive, usual KCI and so on.
Even if Affinity will be a very viable deck, it won't become such abroken thing like it was in Standard.
Control Decks like Wake and Slide and maybe TNN will be strong enough to compete with affinity.
But we can't say that much about the coming meta, while there are still some unreleased sets.

Yes, but all of the truly good combo decks out there always had tutors had essences of control and tons of tutors. Truly, all combo decks will die and burn in the infernal pits of hell....
Man, this sucks. That's it, the Jonny inside of me is protesting and will continue to play real Extended tourneys every friday night. Stupid wizards, why must the new cards all kill jonny decks? They took a knife straight to his heart.
Nevermind me and my melodramaticity. I still think, though, that it will be really hard to recover the essence of *old* Extended combo decks with the sets we're allowed to use. Oh well, maybe it's time to switch back to Vintage. ;)

really, it's not just the tutors....
it's the fact that the new cards are just all so s*!t.
And then all these stupid 6 or 8 mana cc sorceries... destroy all arti and enchant, etc etc.
I want some powerful cards like Time warp, Alluren, Morphlin, Stroke., not some 3rd rate crap like the stupid shoals and beacons and pulses....
btw, Diabolic Intent looks good... me getting a set now
