well sence i couldent think of a better place to put this though maybe there is one and i didnt see it any how, im going to attempt to make a standard rebel deck, but i have a problem. i have three choices of how to run it: black & white, white, or black. i dont want to rule any one color out as of yet but any how if you could help me chose which way would be the best then that would be great i will post decks in a bit when i have gotten through making all three

edit: ok i have just gotten done looking at the black rebels, DAMN i could count them on one hand.... well so that narows it down to black & white or just White. unless you can tell me how to run a black rebel

In my opinion, :wb: is the only way the build can be successful. Without both Blight Speaker and Amrou Scout, the deck doesn't have enough firepower to keep up. So as long as your in both colors, the options open up significantly.

The only key cards are:
4x Blight Speaker
4x Amrou Scout
1-2x Mirror Entity

From there, you just have to build a deck around getting a few little guys out and living long enough to alpha strike w/ a couple entity-pumped creatures. You can either go a control route w/ critter removal (your playing b/w, you have a ton of removal available) or w/ blue and try and run this with 3 colors and counters (mainly blue, splashing black and white for the above 3 cards) or go aggro-control and run more utility rebels and aggro-oriented rebels such as:

Blade of the Sixth Pride
Big Game Hunter
Defiant Vanguard
Ramosian Revivalist
Aven Riftwatcher

and then filling in the rest of the deck with things like Shriekmaw, Oblivion Ring, Crib Swap, Nameless Inversion (note neither of these last two can be tutored out with Scout or Speaker), Thoughtseize, Profane Command, Grim Harvest, etc.

Good luck with the deck, be sure to post your results!

exelent exelent ideas i thought about using mirror entety,

so wait now, why are those two spell non rebel searchable? they count as rebel because they have changeling. the blight speaker and scout both state "rebel card" so, why not? and is mirror searchable?

edit: also any thoughts on bound in silence? that card is searchalbe by the rebel effect so would it be a good idea to use that as some additional rebel support?

You can't find Crib Swap and Nameless Inversion with Speaker and Scout because you can't put a spell into play. Mirror Entity, however, is a permanent. Therefore, it can be searched out with Speaker/Scout.

Bound in Silence is a great 1-2 of, but I wouldn't run more than that. They are clunky when in your hand and you really don't want to see them, except to tutor them out.

The card advantage engine that is rebels is amazing. Depending on the deck I'm playing against, I play aggressively and lay a lot of creatures to win quickly, via the Mirror Entity. Or I just stall my opponent and keep gaining card advantage, via the Rebel engine.

Defiant Vanguard acts as an additional tutor and "rattlesnake"/removal spell. Its amazing how quickly you've incapacitated his creatures and you have a full hand in case a Wrath of God Resolves. Generally you don't want to over commit. You just want to control the board and attack through.

Don't forget that Ramosian Revivalist can bring Nameless Inversion back from the graveyard.

revitalist only does permanent cards. I think I'd try to do it with cho-manno, outrider en-kor, pariah, yadda yadda yadda. a slower, more controlled version.

is there an easy way to stop wrath of god?

The black planeswalker would be great.

i duknow it seems like a bit of a stretch, like it costs to much. i mean it would be interesting but by the time i get it out or can get it out, it would be to late or i would be winning. i dont think it will help to much in this case. i could try mana teith but its very limited...

is there an easy way to stop wrath of god?

The way around wrath of god, is when you are playing 12 tutor creatures, you just tutor. You never play anything from your hand and try to keep at least one tutor creature in hand at all times. Its also good to keep some sort of good removal in hand too, because your wrath player will probably play his best creature post-wrath. So use your tutorable removal early.

The thing is anyone, that is playing Wrath against you won't over-extend himeself either. So you won't have a problem competing for board position. You are in a much better spot to keep tutoring creatures out and have a full hand to recover post-wrath.

Another strategy is to use Champion creatures cards such as Changeling Berserker and Changeling Hero. When you put them on a tutor creature or a Aven Riftwatcher you know you are at least getting a creature back, hopefully a tutor creature. -- A fun play is block with Defiant Vanguard, then before damage goes on the stack tutor for Changeling Berserker and champion the Vanguard. This will still put Vanguard destroy creature ability on the stack and will protect you from removal down the line as defiant is an excellent late game tutor.

I've also heard people playing Footbottom Feast, but I think if you play intelligently, this deck naturally plays around a Wrath of God very well.

Can you post a decklist for us to work with? I would reccomend 4 of each tutor and from there you only need 1-3 of tutorable cards.

3 urborg, tomb of yawgmoth
5 swamps
14 plains

4 armrou scout
4 blightspeaker
3 deepcavern imp
3 avian changeling
2 mirror entity
3 aven riftwatcher
4 rathi trapper
3 amrou seekers

3 nameless inversion
3 divine congregation
3 crib swap
3 terror

alright now i know that there is plenty to edit here but i just put in what i wanted to for the most part. i think the avian changeling and deepcavern imp are exelent cards in here and am considering raising at least the avian up to 4. i like the divine congregation as a redemption card because if im stalling for search i probably will need to boost my life poinst, but it is an expindable card, any how thats what i got so far.
