Here's my attempt at a set. More cards will come in later posts. I'll do about 10 cards per post, and let you mull 'em over. The set will be roughly based on 6 "Overlords" One for each attribute:

Dark: Hellbent
Light: Mystique
Fire: Infernal
Water: Aquatic
Earth: Natural
Wind: Gale


Rush of the Overlords (RotO)

RTO - 000

Rexil - Hellbent Overlord

This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card cannot be special summoned except by sacrificing 3 monsters on your side of the field that have "Hellbent" in their card name. Your life points are also reduced to 100. While this card is on the
field, all Non-Dark monsters' attack and defense become 0, and all of
their effects are negated. If this card is in the graveyard, you can
special summon it back to your side of the field by removing 5 monsters
in your graveyard from play and paying half of your life points. During
each of your standby phases, send to the graveyard from your side of
the field all monsters except this monster.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Mystique" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Mystique" in its name.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Hellbent" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Hellbent" in its name.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Infernal" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Infernal" in its name.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Aquatic" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Aquatic" in its name.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Natural" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Natural" in its name.

This card may only be equipped to a card that has "Gale" in its name. Increase the attack and defense of this card by 1000 points for each card on your side of the field that has "Gale" in its name.

Good start...but as it's written there, Rexil could be special summoned from the hand or with Reasoning. Maybe you can add more summoning requirements. Relative Emblem adds a third card to the group of Mage Power and United We Stand. A card like that should already exist...

Edited from paying half your life points to reducing them to 100.

Fair enough, but that still doesn't cover Reasoning. It seems that the only way to avoid easy Reasoning summons is to add that Rexil can't be Special Summoned, except by its own effect.

This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card cannot be special summoned except by sacrificing 3 monsters with "Mystique" in their card name. When this card is special summoned to the field, all monsters on your side of the field (including this one) cannot declare an attack for the next two turns. As long as this card is on the field, all Light monsters on your side of the field (excluding this one) cannot be destroyed by a result of battle or by a card effect.

This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card cannot be special summoned except by sacrificing "Mystique Cleric." When this card is sent to the graveyard as a result of battle, you may search your deck for one "Acietso - Mystique Overlord" and put it in your hand. Then shuffle your deck.

During a battle between an opponent's monster and a monster on your side of the field that has "Mystique" in its name, you may sacrifice this card to negate the attack and end the battle phase.

This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card cannot be special summoned except by sacrificing 3 monsters on your side of the field with "Gale" in their name. When this card is summoned to the field, all monsters on your side of the field (including this one) are switched to defense position. While this card is on the field, any time a Wind monster you control is destroyed in battle by an opponents monster, and the opponents monster is not destroyed, after damage calculation, return both monsters to their opponents hands.
