I recently bought a fire red versoin and i was planning on getting a houndoom on my team. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get it (other than colleseum).
PS: I've heard rumors about somthing you can do that makes the Zubat in some cave turn into houndour.

Sadly, THAT requires many things that we in NA cannot get. (unless you're in Japan, then you might be fine) It requires an E-reader as well as the e-reader card that changes the Zubats to Houndooms. Those (the cards) are not for sale outside of Japan sadly. (it would have been a good idea too if they had) Also, you would need either another gameboy or the gameboy player in addition to the gameboy you're using so one could have the e-reader plugged into one and the other has the Fire Red game in it, linkt hem together and then scan the card. You could also get a gameshark if you wanted, OR if you have a gamecube, but don't want to buy Colosseum, simply rent colosseum and get houndoom. Unfortunately you're gonna have to motor throught the rest of the game in order to finish it (which you must do in order to trade) before the return date comes.

That is evil. I thought those cards would be introduced later this year. I doubt Houndoom will be in Emerald. Why would they put Altering Cave in FR and LG if you can't even use the wireless adapter or E-reader to change the Zubat?

because I think you can do it in Japan, and rather than take it out of the game (which would require some programming) they just left it in. Probably just like the extra decorations that don't exist, they left the option open just in case. Although, it makes me wonder if E-cards imported from Japan would work in NA e-readers and for NA games? I mean, the game sthemselves work in other consoles (gameboy games I mean) so I wonder if e-cards are the same?

Same way that I can enter "Mystery Events Are Exciting" (or whatever the phrase is) on Ruby or Sapphire European edition... even though the E-reader was never released in Europe :(. Meh.

If you wanted one quite badly you could always import since the GBA is region free, waste of money though if you ask me XD...which nobody did...*shuts up* :P.

I have a gameboy, good grades, and kind parents....I think I have a good chance of getting collesseum.
On a separate note does anyone know any dark pokemon you can get in FR LG without involving trades to R/S/E. As far as I know they only dark move in FR/LG is bite *cough* sucks *cough*.

I don't, but I know a man who does --> Pokemon Forever. Are you looking for Dark type, or just Dark moves?
According to Pokefor, Meowth can learn Faint Attack (http://pokefor.greenchu.de/zukan/gba/moves/faint-attack) at level 25. It's no stronger than Bite, but at least it never misses to make up for its lack of strength. Also, Nidoran female/Nidorina can learn Crunch (http://pokefor.greenchu.de/zukan/gba/moves/crunch/), but of course she's no use for breeding the move on to someone else :(.
I think that's it, apart from trading & breeding.

Tyranitaur learns Crunch as well. Not a terribly wide variety of pokemon it can breed with in order to put Crunch on something else, but it's something. I think you can only get a Larvitar after you finish the game (like the rest of the johto pokemon) but apparently it's found in Sevault Canyon. Oh yeah, and Girafarig can learn Crunch as well. (again, only after you beat the game. So if you're looking for dark type moves before you finish the game, can't help you, but if you want dark moves after you finish the game, there's two options right there)
there's more ofcourse, but that's the only two I can think of from memory.

Is there anyone else who's hoping that there will be better dark type moves in the future?? The strongest dark type move only has a base attack of 80. That's strong but there should be a stronger dark type move available. Maybe a move called Shadowbolt?? (I know that is so corny)
